Frome Community Film Screening
Join us to watch five short films created by residents about life in Frome, past, present and future.
Since November 2025, a group of Frome residents have been working with the Civic Imaginary Partnerships research project and filmmaker John Sealey to create short films based on life in Frome and how they think, feel, dream and sense the future of the town. On Saturday 15th August we will be hosting the first official screening of the films at the Victoria Park Cafe. The event is free to attend, and includes a free drink from the cafe!
If you would like to reserve a seat, please email civicimaginaries@glasgow.ac.uk
11am-12pm – First official screening of the films, followed by a Q&A with some of the filmmakers and researchers.
12-4pm – The films will be shown on a loop for audiences to watch in their own time.
The film screening is hosted at Victoria Park Community Café Cinema, an outdoor venue with 35 seats and additional standing room. The venue is accessible with level access, suitable for wheelchair users, and inclusive to all. If you have a noise sensitivity, you may wish to bring ear defenders to watch the films. The event is taking place on the same day as Frome Carnival Family Funday and Dog Show, also in Victoria Park. Check out their stalls and activities too!
We will also be screening the films at our ForEm event on Saturday 19th September at the Silk Mill, and they will soon be available to view on our website.
With thanks to the Frome Climate Film Festival and the Community Cafe for their support with organising the event.
